Our Alice came !!! With all respect and love, in her time, in a natural water-birth delivery.

At 41 weeks, 52 hours of broken bag. She was born with 3,080 kilos and 52cm.

It was not easy to go through all process, all the pressure of the broken bag and the waiting for 41 weeks, but my guardian angel Dr. Vinohda, was with me all the time, fought for me, comforted me, gave me strength, guided me, gave me security and helped me through the labor, doing exercises with me, positions, and most importantly helping me to balance my mind.

She was my birth companion(doula), my angel. I have no words to thank enough her for everything she did for us. Everything happened as we dreamed.

From the beginning, she calmed me down, through all of the pregnancy and preparation for childbirth. Without it all of this would be very difficult.

Thank you Vinodha, for everything you have done for us, our family will be eternally grateful!

Thank you Happy Mom, for the support since I got here in Hyderabad.

I’m posting some photos.

Do not forget to have her as ur LABOUR/BIRTH SUPPORTER, it makes all the difference at the time of your baby’s birth.

Thanks, God bless you!!!

Priscila, Arecio and baby Alice.

ABOUT LACTATION CONSULTATIONS

HI ALL,

Dr Vinodha is a blessing in disguise ! She is easily approachable, kind hearted and very patient in understanding your medical issues and provides fool-proof solutions. Problems related to lactation are very common these days but have become a NO MAN’S LAND. Neither the obstetrician nor the paediatrician would really deal with lactation problems. Lactation experts fill the gap and Dr. Vinodha is the best. She understands your issues at the core level, spends considerable time explaining things, makes sure you understand them and gives you dietary and medical advice. She instills a positive attitude and gives you a new hope. At the end you would feel confident enough to deal with the problems. Her words and treatment really worked for me and I would recommend all those with lactation problems to consult her. God bless you, doctor.  – Rashmi

A DOCTOR MUM AND DOCTOR DAD

Kunal Vyawahare vyawaharekunal@yahoo.com

Hi all,

I met Dr Vinoda in my second trimester of pregnancy.  The reason for early meeting was the rather traumatic feeding experience in my first pregnancy. I had problem latching causing bleeding nipples, severe engorgement, blocked ducts and finally abscess formation leading to a surgery in 4th month postpartum. This followed by a rather horrible postop period where I was forced to medicate and stop lactation  and put my little one on formula. I wanted to do my best this time around. I read about Dr Vinoda online and found her extremely empathic, encouraging and approachable. Due to her guidance I started feeding right on the operation table during my C section. Colostrum just came easily right from the 1st minute of birth. I did have engorgement on 2nd day and she taught me feeding techniques and massages and pearls of guidelines that helped me sail through. Now a month from my child’s birth I find breastfeeding much more relaxed and satisfying experience. Thank you Dr Vinoda for being the angel you are. May you be able to reach out and help lots of new mommies in distress! God Bless!…..(DR.ALOKA ,pediatric ophthalmologist)

Firstly I want to thank Dr. Vinodha From the bottom of my heart. We were blessed with a baby boy 2 weeks back. I had c section and baby suffered from mild jaundice. Doctor kept him in warmer for 4-5 days. After that he can’t drink mother milk directly. So, we need to feed him with formula alternatively with mothers expressed milk. But we want our child to drink mothers milk directly. So, We asked our friends, relatives and we googled regarding this is there any doctor who can help us. We heard about Dr Vinoda and we went there. She helped us and our baby is drinking mothers milk with in 12 hours time. After my experience I can say only one thing She is the best. She is very friendly and helpful.I am pretty sure this will be the best place for all the mothers who are not able to feed their baby.
I once again thanks her for all the help.

A  BIRTH STORY   :  DR.SAHAJA  AND DR.HARISH

dr.sahaja

August 12th..we were at the doctors office unsure of what we would be told as we were called to come after the radiologist and our Obstetrician,  had a telephonic discussion. The anxiety was because the EDD was still a good week away. The doctor had asked us to stay for the night for observation as the amniotic fluid was just about at normal level and was not a great sign for the fetus.
We followed the advice and checked into the fourth floor OBG ward along with my Amma, athamma and Harish. Doctor had earlier mentioned about Dr.Vinodha, who, we were told, would help us during the delivery. We always wanted the delivery to be normal and throughout the pregnancy, doctor did assure us, it was going fine and normal is what it would be.
The pains did begin, around 8pm, though they were very brief and at long intervals. After having something to eat, I was told to go to the observation chamber next to the labour room. Vinodha had earlier in the evening come and introduced herself, was present there too. She explained to me what all can be done and what all I must expect to go through until the delivery. She began with breathing exercises. After a while she made me do mild stretches, both standing and leaning and while sitting on the exercise ball. All through she was encouraging me to relax. Her warm demeanor and her untiring efforts kept me going. Late in the night, I had thrown up, which was considered a good sign for labour. Vinodha assured me it was all going well and not to worry. I must also mention the nurses and duty doctor were very efficient and comforting at their job. The pains had now become more regular, longer and at shorter intervals. It was extremely painful to the point where I feared I cannot carry on and was asking for painkillers or to go for caesarean. My family too felt the same. Vinodha however, was confident that I was doing just fine. Around 6 am next morning the doctor had come for examination and was positive that the baby was ready to be delivered.
At 8:30 am 13th August, the joy of our life, a healthy baby girl, Meenakshi was born by normal delivery. Our happiness knew no bounds and it was a surreal moment for all of us. I cannot thank enough, our doctor, and her team for their expertise and care that was provided.DR. Vinodha had played a huge part in the whole process. I thank her whole heartedly for being there and holding my hand when needed.

PIC 1

The most memorable day of our lives-our bundle of joy was born on 12th Dec 2016.

As a 1st time mom, I wanted to give the very best to my baby, no matter what, fighting against the whole world if that is what is required.

Having attended many classes on breastfeeding and upon knowing its importance and benefits that BREAST MILK IS THE BEST MILK, I was so keen and adamant that I will only exclusively breastfeed for at least 6 months. Little did I know the challenges in it. Within 3 days, my baby had lost 370 gm of weight, inspiTe of knowing it was common, as a new mom I was completely worried. Doctors concluded that mine were inverted nipples, baby didn’t know how to suck etc and finally suggested to go for formula feed  due to inadequate milk, which I strongly refused to give. My baby was crying all day and all night due to hunger. I was so helpless and in tears all through. Then we adopted to expressing my breast milk on 4th day when my baby was put in phototheraphy for jaundice. It came as a relief since my baby was drinking and sleeping peacefully. I was satisfied that one way or the other, he was indirectly drinking breast milk which I had abundantly and his tummy was finally full. This express feeding continued for 5 days where I was trying to feed him direct breast milk but in vain.

On 10th day I panicked as my baby completely refused to drink directly.

That is when we referred to the internet and came across HAPPYMOM website and Dr.Vinoda s-Lactation clinic, who were really life saviors. Thank you so much for patiently explaining the root cause of the problem and simplifying the solution. Now it has been 4 days since my baby has started exclusively breast feeding. You made our life much note easier.

My 1st learning and beat learning as a mom, from this experience, is that we should never ever get discouraged if we fail the first time, and if needed try for 100 times but never give up. You need to bring out your inner strengths and work it out. You will definitely feel sad and tired at first, but never give up adding to the sadness as these postnatal blues will worsen the situation. Don’t get discouraged with anything. You and you baby will work it out together and You will be 100% successful.

Under proper GUIDANCE-

PRACTICE, PATIENCE AND PERSEVERANCE will help you achieve wonders and make you super moms. It certainly did in my case.

Our heartfelt THANK YOU to Vinoda madam, who helped us by solving our problem in a simple way and making our lives much more easier and much more beautiful. Thank you once again madam.

Best Regards,

THE PLACE WHERE I DELIVERED HAS A LACTATION CENTER…BUT IT DID NOT SUPPORT ME OR UNDERSTAND MY LACTATION  PROBLEM….THEY DID NOT HAVE A PROPER CONSULTANT.

ALL THAT THEY TOLD WAS TO CONSULT PEDIATRICIAN. I CAME ACROSS DR.VINODHA THROUGH HAPPYMOM AND SHE HAS BEEN VERY RESOURCEFUL AND CAME TO KNOW LOTS OF THINGS RELATED TO BREASTFEEDING

HI

I happen to meet dr.vinoda at her place for lactation support,I came to know about doc by my gynaecologist dr.nirmala.
I am a first time mom.after my c section on 29/1/2017,my baby was fed on formula milk for 3 days because I was experiencing   very rare condition in lactation because of which doc was apprehensive and told me not to breast feed my baby after consulting dr vinoda she explained me about my problem and build a confidence in me and guided me to continue breast feeding and from next day me n baby was perfectly alright.
It actually seems like a medical emergency
moms might be asked to stop feeding
they just need the assurance and get the knowledge about evidence based practices.
Dr vinoda is so humble and down to earth, me and my baby are blessed by meeting her. Thanks a lot for ur valuable suggestions mam….NEERAJA.

ABOUT LABOR SUPPORT AND DELIVERY

“ I am proud of many things in my life, but nothing beats being a mother “.
When it’s confirmed that I was pregnant, lot of questions and fear in my mind. But after attending the Lamaze and Hypnobirthing classes provided by Dr. Vinodha I was very confident and very sure that I can birth my first child the most natural way possible without any fear by following the diet, exercises perfectly.
Coming to my labor, it was a very long labor. 36 hours of early labor was completely managed at home with labor support(Dr. Vinodha),our birth companion.
Hypnobirthing relaxation techniques are very helpful to manage the contraction surges.
After 36 hours contractions are 5 minutes apart and lasting for one minute, then we moved to birthing center. By that time I was 6cms dilated but baby was ascynclitic.
Throughout the day walking, taking stairs, positions, laboring in water but by evening contractions spaced 20-30 mins apart.
After some rest with the round of exercises, positions and homeopathics contractions are picked up around 2am in the morning but not too strong. Again taking some rest between the contractions around 9am with the round of exercises and positions contractions are picked up. Finally in squatting I feel pushy and with few strong pushes I gave birth to baby boy who is born with the cord twice around the neck.
This would have not been possible without support and encouragement by Dr.Vinodha.
Thank you for building up confidence in me from beginning of my pregnancy to birth my baby naturally.
We respect your patience towards work and wish you all the good luck and successful career ahead.
Lots of love

 A  BREASTFEEDING STORY

                                                PIC 3

Hi I am AnushaMadduluri   age 26 Years from Jaggaiahapet  AndhraPradesh…

My prepregnency weight was 67Kgs and I have no complications during pregnancy. I took treatment in 2 hospitals up to 7th month i got treatment from famous hospital in Hyderabad, then in  7th month i moved to my hometown for my delivery. In 9th month my weight was 77kgs, I had flat nipples and  No one examined my breast during pregnancy. On June 10th 2016 i gave birth to a baby girl and her weight was 2.750kgs as c-section was done to me my child was given bottle feeding for 3 days with Buffalo milk. As i know the importance of colostrum and breast feeding from 14th June 2016 i tried to breast feed my child, Baby was not breast fed with in 1 hour after birth Due to flat nipples and baby already got habituated to bottle feeding baby was not able to suck my nipples and baby was not breast fed. Syringe exercise was suggested by doctor  in   Jaggaiahapet, and i tried to make it work but there was no result. After 7 days i got discharged from hospital baby was still unable to suck nipples so i searched in google for LACTATION experts  available in Hyderabad. Then i came to  know about DR.VINODHA and consulted her.  I traveled 250kms from Jaggaiahpet to Hyderabad and i met lactation consultant DR. VINODHA when my child was 12 days old,  she gave training in different ways to breast feed my child. I felt very happy after seeing these different methods that i am confident pretty much that i can breast feed my baby. I took consultations for 2 days though it didn’t work immediately doctor suggested alternate method. Then baby started breast feeding with the help of nipple shield. It took 1 week for me to train my baby to breast feed without nipple shield. As my Doctor was more concern she is touch with us about the status. And my baby birth weight was 2.750kgs, She was just 2.500kgs and now i am happy to say that my baby weight is 4 kg. I am very happy with this LACTATION consultant  and the concern doctor showed on my child. I am feeling the real happiness in motherhood while breast feeding. I even suggested my other friends about her . I am sharing my experience in training my child with other new moms.

I am very much thankful to DR.VINODHA

I AM A HAPPY MOM NOW.

A JUST DAD AND A JUST MUM SAYSDr.Vinodha is a very knowledgable Lactation consultant .She promptly filled us in all the basics we were missing out on when we first came in.She also very pleasantly corrected some of the misinformation we had been given from prior sources .She was very patient while showing and teaching us new positions and while we practiced the new positions ourselves. She provided us with reasons for everything that she told about breastfeeding. She is very modern and forward in her thinking and outlook on life, especially because most of the maternity  and delivery staff in the hospitals were very orthodox and dint feel comfortable having me around.I definitely recommend her………..A JUST DADDr.Vinodha with her chirpy prescence has initiated the process of pleasurable breastfeeding for our 6 day old baby.  Our baby had oblem and was very weak with jaundice.  While everyone pushed us towards the formula route,Dr.Vinodha insisted on giving breastfeeding a chance.Although sceptical at first,we now realize that with the right physical cues breastfeeding is pleasurable for both the baby and the child.  Everyone  talks about motherhood being a joy but without the right kind of guidance and support systems ,it can turn into a nightmare.Dr.Vinodha is just an epitomal example of being the right support system.I learnt this in just two sessions.Everymother ,soon to be mothers should give such a lactation counsultant a try…..A JUST MOMFormer production manager and associate cinematographerFourth monkey entertainment private limited.

OH GOD!!!!!..   I’M A MESS   …..TO…  YIPEEE   …    SUCCESSFULLY   BREASTFEEDING!!!!!!
THANKS TO DR.VINODHA WHO STOOD BY ME  THRU THIS JOURNEY TO MAKE IT SUCCESSFUL

While there are many who would like to share their Birth stories, I on the other hand would like to share my Lactation story. This is something not many mothers share. Until I delivered I have never imagined that Breast feeding can be such a difficult task when you don’t know have enough knowledge on Lactation and latching techniques. It could have made my life miserable for the next one year. I would like to explain how my journey of breast feeding was.

I delivered my baby via a C section. First and foremost, almost all hospitals in United States believe in body to body contact for mom and baby immediately after birth which will stimulate milk production in Mom. But unfortunately, that dint happen to me in one of the most reputed hospitals. We all know that moms who have had C section have trouble with Milk in initial few days and so was I. Immediately after delivery, I was shifted to a labor room and by the time I recovered from anesthesia, I saw the nurse feeding my baby Formula milk. I was shocked!! Without even making the baby latch or getting the baby have Body to Body contact with Mom, they even started feeding the baby. This problem is everywhere. Almost all reputed hospitals are introducing either bottle feed or spoon feed before even getting the baby latch his/her mom.

Although I was furious seeing the nurse feed the baby, I dint have much energy to confront her. After some time, Lactation consultant Dr.Vinoda visited me and which is when Body to Body contact happened with my baby. I am glad she did that cuz she knows the importance of it. She tried to make the baby latch and also advised me that I have to keep trying so that the baby gets used to latching. I was then shifted to our standard room and things got worse then. Every time sisters used to come feed the baby, they used to make the baby latch for some time then used to give up and spoon feed him. They even gave me the craziest idea of using a Nipple shield saying I had a flat nipple. Every day, I have complained to my OBGYN and my Ped that my baby isn’t latching and all they said was it takes time.  After three days, we got discharged and we left home without having a successful latch with my kid.

After getting home, we have tried to three days to get the baby latch and we utterly failed. Nipple shield also added to this problem. On one hand, I had low milk supply and on other – using this nipple shield was making it very difficult for my Little one to suck. He would try constantly and then used to sleep after getting tired. After sitting for 40 long minutes, his tummy used to still be empty and he used to cry immediately the minute I try to put him to bed. All our relatives who used to visit us , told me I dint have milk and that’s the reason hes crying. That was the time I went to depression and thought breast feeding will be a distant dream for me and started expressing milk via a Breast Pump. My milk supply henceforth got lil better but still breast feeding attempts still failed. Then, I have decided to visit Dr Vinoda again. That day and that session made a huge difference in my life. We travelled all the way to Kondapur to meet Dr Vinoda and we had a one hour lactation session with her. She explained clearly but my breasts or my nipple wasn’t the issue, my milk wasn’t the issue and baby wasn’t the issue. Main issue was  we introduced different feeding mechanisms – . She then showed  me how to make him latch. I was really shocked to see how he successfully latched and started drinking. That session was a real motivation for a mother like me who went into depression thinking I would never be able to breast feed my baby. I even made up my mind that I can only pump and feed my baby this whole year.

She explained benefits of breast feeding and how hygienic it is when compared to spoon feed or bottle feed. I even had a second session with her as there was improvement in my kid. Here I am, successfully able to breastfeed my baby and all thanks to Dr Vinoda. I still remember her words “If you can make your baby successfully breast feed, you are all set for the whole year and you will have a wonderful time with your baby!! ”

This is when I have understood the significance of a Lactation consultant and how they can help you out. Although lactation consultants are famous in other countries, in India many moms don’t come out with lactation issues and don’t know that there are people who can help with Breast feeding problems and hence facing issues. It would be great if doctors also recommend Lactation consultants when their patients come with breast feeding issues. This is something that dint happen to me in the hospital I delivered. I had to take the step of going and meeting Dr Vinoda as I knew about lactation consultants when I studied in States. What if there are moms who don’t know about lactation consultants? What if they face the same issue? The issue that could be easily resolved by lactation consultants like Dr Vinoda !!

Now, I am a happy mom whose dream of breast feeding has come true. Breast feeding enhances that beautiful bond between you and your baby. Thanks to Dr Vinoda for making it happen .

BEING  PREPARED FOR LABOUR AND BREASTFEEDING IS IMPORTANT!!!!!!!

Enjoying motherhood is the greatest and toughest part of life. Everyone has mixed feelings, but I have a different side of it. Being a most energetic girl my life before pregnancy is very joyful. Everyone of us will be so excited and happy once we hear the news the same with me too. But its gradually decreased with my 9 months nausea but still i used to overcome with some medications and am able to do all my house hold work. Finally  the day came but with no pains and I just went for check up my doc asked me to admit as she said those are mild pains not full fledged pains. Before my final day all my scan reports and health wise i am fit to deliver normal as my baby is in cephalic position. But she told i have to go for csection and no more way. I donno why she suggested cesarian but I went undergone it as I don’t have any option at that time. As I am aware of giving milk to baby after an hour of delivery, when I conveyed same to nurse she opposed saying it’s not possible as I am Cesarean and have to wait till next day. I couldnt do anything but just to follow their words. after my post partum oh god I am literally couldn’t move a little.. mean while my baby feed started with formula.ok i waited till next day. Those nurse are busy and have not tried to feed baby with my milk and told a reason I don’t have my milk yet. I have waited till 3 days to get my milk supply. Now my baby refused to latch.oh god I tried and tried and he didn’t latch.  I tried nipple shield but I couldn’t hold well and he couldn’t latch with it also. I am not self trained oe unaware if techniques how to feed my baby when ni ine guides. I used to pump and give some milk. He is now 3 months still i am trying him to latch but no result in positive. My entire  journey is saddest part of my life. I wish you all to be aware how our motherhood journey before or during pregnancy. If I would have gone to pregnancy classes then my story would have been very much different and happy. But to my relief I found HAPPYMOM Dr.Vinodha…with whom i culd share everything and who supported me and encouraged to do many other best things i culd do for my baby….I m now pumping and feeding  my baby and staying positive..

So I sincerely request you all go to Happymom pregnancy classes  as anything may happen at any time.if you go to classes you may have awareness . Its like prevention is better than cure.
Last but not the least i thank Vinodha mam for her support and we gonna meet sure for my next baby.HAVE A HAPPY AND SAFE PREGNANCY AND MOTHERHOOD FOR ALL OF YOU.
